Farmcycles Clinics Return this Sunday!

After many gloomy winter months Farmcycles clinics are returning this Sunday, April 21st 12 - 2PM.

If you signed up on that form on our site and wondered why nobody ever reached out, it’s cause it’s only a handful of us and we prefer wrenching in person than doing computer work, so come by and chat on Sunday.

Woodstock should be launching in June!

Have you heard of Woodtock?? It’s the adorable yellow mini-ferry that will be shuttling people back and forth from Jack London to the new Alameda guest dock, allegedly launching sometime in June.

We wanna organize some ruckus when the Oakland/Alameda short hop launches.

Finally an alternative to the dreadful tunnel! We wanna show that there is overwhelming demand for car-free mobility across the estuary, do you want to join us in organizing some sort of party on launch day?

Alameda Climate Action and Resiliency Plan update

Alameda is revising its CARP 🐟 and they REALLY need to hear by some people who aren’t carbrained. Check out the survey link below!

The plan itself is a pretty interesting read, but the transportation section is severely anemic given California’s growing transportation emissions and Silver Bullet mentality when it comes to Electric Vehicles. They could really use from some people who care about expanding transit and active mobility.

One aspect Bike Walk Alameda has been pushing for considering the impact of large parking lots on heat-island effect and how they promote harmful mobility options.

We are also concerned that a non-binding plan is just a paperweight. The plan revision must make recommendations for ensuring that all public projects assess whether they are making positive or negative contributions to it.
