What a beauty!

In September we poured some extra love towards cleaning up the farm.

We hauled away trash, pulled tons of weeds, hung up signs, built new structures, and improved the safety of the space. It was a lot of work and many of you showed up to lend a hand. Thank you SO much, we couldn’t do this without all the volunteers who show up to keep the space neat(ish), safe, and accessible.

There is still lots more for us to do to convince our landlord that we deserve to stay through the end of our lease, and we need to hear from you about what makes the farm special for you:

People who rent private spaces make it possible for all the mutual aid and community functions of the farm to happen. Space rental comes with the obligation to participate in the Makerfarm’s governance and upkeep.

Farmcycles Bike Repair Clinic

Sunday, October 20th, 12PM - 2PM

Farmcycles has been really fun, both during and outside of clinic hours.

During the September clinic, 8 kids rolled in to learn how to fix flats, tighten handlebars, and add brakes to their bikes.

My favorite part was when an adult arrived with his child’s broken bike. After seeing us teaching other kids, he asked us to wait while he called his daughter to come to the farm so she and her friends could learn too.
 

Animal Care Day

Sunday, October 20th, 12PM - 2PM

The Animals Project is hosting monthly animal care days where we invite the community to stop by and hang out with our ducks, chickens, and goats while sipping mint tea.

Ever wanted to take a goat for a walk around the neighborhood? Ever wondered what the correct way to hold a chicken is? Stop by the farm and ask our Animals Project volunteers.
 

Bugs! Bugs everywhere!!

Our gardens are doing a pretty good job at welcoming friendly pollinators and other bugs to the farm.
