Bad news first…

Our landlord, the Alameda Point Collaborative, reached out to inform us that they have plans for the land they are leasing us.

We are still coming to alignment on how much time we have available and we will be sharing more information as soon as it becomes available, but this is what we ask of you:

  1. We are collecting stories of how this space has impacted many in the community. Please share your story at bayareamaker.farm/love-4-makerfarm.

  2. Help us find a new home! In the unlikely chance that you have the ear of a vacant parcel landlord, city council member, billionaire, or, more likely, if you know other artists and makers who might have ideas, we are all ears.

    No option is off the table, though we’d love to preserve as much of our egalitarian, decommoditized, and decentralized structure as we can in the transition.

Farm Beautification Sundays

Every sunday this month, 10-5PM

Part of being an inviting community space is being… well… inviting! We tend to focus in-ward during volunteer days so we thought we’d make some time this month to make our outsides look as fun as our insides.

Makerfarmers will be on site every Sunday this month to clean up, redecorate, and fix things up. Stop by if you want to get your hands dirty, play some music, or just hang out.
 

Farmcycles Bike Repair Clinic

Sunday, September 15th, 12PM - 2PM

We had a busy clinic last month! 5 people stopped by with varying degrees of bike issues.

Julie (made up name) brought in her old bike that she hadn’t touched in 5 years. She though it might be totalled, but we showed her where to drop some oil, how to tune her gears, and got her riding out of the farm.

We spent much of the August music festival working with our favorite neighborhood kids on their bikes. We fixed 12 of their bikes. We are especially proud about how many of their bikes we added breaks to for their first time!
 

September Monthly Potluck

Friday September 20th, 6PM

Some of the things we love about our monthly potlucks:
1. All sorts of people bringing all sorts of food (and some don’t and that’s totally welcome too!)
2. The people who pick up instruments and share their music
3. Meeting new neighbors everytime
4. The local kids swinging by who head straight for the bike shop.
5. The range of nerds, coasties, builders, artists, activists, and farmers who show up.

Fall Equinox Celebration & Volunteer day

Sunday September 22nd, 10AM - 5PM

Where did summer go, please bring it back! It’s time for another seasonal celebration!

Join us and make your own adventure: take on some volunteer tasks, bring or eat some food, listen to some good music, bring your bike in for a tune-up, or just bask in the (🀞) September sun and enjoy the hubbub.

We will also be hosting a drip irrigation workshop at some point during the day. If you are interested in attending and would like more info, reply to let us know!
