A peaceful place at a chaotic time

It’s at times like these that the mission of the Makerfarm–to provide a space for community, the arts, and mutual aid–seems more important than ever.

Our little corner of Alameda will not solve any large structural problems, but we are all committed to creating an inclusive place that nurtures diversity. A place where activists can come and collaborate, decompress, and find solace in community. Where petting a chicken can morph into discussing the next steps in your activist journey.

If you are part of a group or an organization doing good work and would like to host a meeting or an arts day at the farm, please get in touch!

If you are part of fixing this broken world, the Makerfarm belongs to you.

Farmcycles Bike Repair Clinic

Sunday, February 16th, 12PM - 2PM

We had SO much fun last month! Two families stopped by with all of their bike stables and we got to fix flats, tune gears, tighten brakes.

A few of the young helpers learned how to use wrenches and by the end of the clinic were confidently fixing their parents’ bikes.

Stop by tomorrow, Sunday the 16th if you wanna get your bike ready to commute as the weather warms.

Animal Care Day

Sunday, February 16th, 12PM - 2PM

Come for an animals tour and to learn about animal care at the farm.

Newcomers and returning folks are welcome, we’ll be putting new straw in the chicken laying boxes to give our laying girls a dry bed.

Monthly Potluck

Friday February 21st, 6PM

Wanna be on NPR? Former Bay Area Potluck attendee, Hannah Mayree, was just featured on Code Switch talking about her organization the Black Banjo Reclamation Project. There is absolutely 0 connection between her attending our potlucks and her public radio appearance, but we just wanted an excuse to share her great work and this interview.

Bring yourself and whatever else you feel called to bring, be it a dish, a story, a friend, or a song.

Archery with Dan!

When: Wednesdays 2:30 - 3:45 pm (Weather permitting, Holidays excluded)
Where: meet near the Barbers Point Road entrance. (Next to the chick coop.)
Who: Ages 6 through 17

Please have a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian in order to participate. no exceptions.

Permission slips can be provided by a Maker or online.
