Compost Hub
We are open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10AM–5PM.
Compost Hubs are sites that offer free compost to residents and provide educational resources on making and using compost. This service is free to all residents, and is not restricted to those living in Alameda County or in specific cities. Make sure to bring your own fillable containers. Compost Hubs are located at urban farms and spaces managed by community organizations, so make sure to check in and learn about the other services and volunteer opportunities they offer!
Please read everything below:
Enter through Makerfarm Main Street gate.
If you arrive by bike, feel free to bring your bike and trailer onto the farms.
If you arrive by car, do not drive inside or block the driveway. Car parking is best outside of Makerfarm on Main St.
People need to bring their own buckets, bags, tarps, or whatever tools they’ll use to transport compost.
Visitors are responsible for loading their own compost and are limited to one carload or three bikeloads per month.
Upon arrival, visitors need to complete these items on their phone via QR code or URL:
A Makerfarm waiver form, only the first time you visit.
A 1-2 minute online survey, every time you take from the compost hub.
The Makerfarm Compost Hub is a collaboration between:

We could all use your energy if you are looking for volunteer opportunities!
