Barber Street Garden
The Bay Area Makerfarm has made a big push to beautify and utilize our space outside the fence to engage community in gardening. Eva has a ten year background in maintaining school gardens. After the initial raised beds received overwhelming support and encouragement from neighbors and admirers, some of whom became regular watering and planting volunteers, she added 100 linear feet of irrigated raised beds. All produce and flowers grown on these beds are available to anyone walking by. Stop by and snack on some tomatoes or to plant your favorite flower in one of the Barber street raise beds.
Main Street Garden
The pedestrian entrance of the Makerfarm is flanked by two beds of stunning California native sages, poppies, bachelor buttons. Vegetables are grown along throughout the garden area, in raised beds, cloth pots, and even at the base of one of our olive trees.
The Mound Garden
The old composted sugar cane mound is home to a pollinator’s garden, a pre-K garden, a fruit-tree orchard, a few of raised beds, and a tomato forest.
