Get Involved

Come find us at 2700 Barbers Point Rd, Alameda.

We offer maker spaces, raise chickens, grow gardens, cook meals for unhoused people, and offer workshops.

Here are a few ways you can join the community of farmers and makers:

  • Rent space or start a project at the Makerfarm *

    • We occasionally have private spaces available for rent, apply now to be considered to move in to one of those spaces.

    • We also offer 6 month leases for people who may need outdoor space to work on building out a van or another outdoor building project.

      • But please note, we do are not accepting vehicle storage applications.

    • Start a mutual aid project hosted at the farm.

  • Join an existing Makerfarm Project

    • Grow food and flowers for yourself and your community

    • Participate in mutual aid efforts for Alameda Point resiliency.

  • Teach a workshop on your craft

  • Donate tools or materials to the farm

  • Check the calendar for volunteering opportunities and come by the farm!

Bay Area Makerfarm is a fiscally-sponsored project of Common Vision, a nonprofit 501c3 organization (tax ID # 80-0615097). All donations are tax-exempt to the fullest extent of the law. Your gift will support the Bay Area Makerfarm, but your tax receipt will come from Common Vision. Your gift is tax-deductible to the full extent permitted by law.

* Please be patient and persistent! We are an entirely volunteer run operation and receive a lot of applications. The people reviewing your application are doing so on their free time.

If you are excited to get started doing things at the farm, no need to wait for your rental application to be processed. Come to a potluck, join a project, or come use the bike shop. The farm is a community space that welcomes your creativity and enthusiasm whether you rent space or not.
